Last verified Nov 2025

Draft: based on one couple's experience and still being checked. Always confirm with the office.

Spouse visa (LTSVP) renewal

The renewal is done online through ePLSI. You can apply as early as 3 months before the current pass expires.

  1. Sign up for ePLSI and create an ID at https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my.
  2. Choose the category “Spouse of Malaysian citizen”.
  3. Fill in the form and upload the documents. Upload the photo first, then press submit.
  4. Within 3 to 5 working days, Immigration emails the decision: approved or rejected.
  5. If approved, the email has a payment link. Pay online.
  6. After paying, print the ePASS from ePLSI.

If the application is rejected and the pass is about to expire, go to the Immigration office at Gate A (Pintu A) with the Malaysian spouse (the sponsor) and all the documents for checking. Immigration hotline: 03-8880 1065.

Permission to work

  1. The foreign spouse applies together with the Malaysian spouse. Both must attend.
  2. Bring the documents in the table below.
  3. Approval is endorsed in the passport. The endorsement is free.

Companies in the “outsourcing” category are not allowed. The officer may ask for more documents, or reject an incomplete application.
